Treasurer’s Report

  • DSARC Kitty: $ 382
  • AuxComm Kitty: $255 We need to pay Austin for the web server.

Old Business

  • After class Field exercise. Hell’s Gate ARC may need a field exercise in May.

  • Tech Class, March 24 and 31 in Clarkston. Five new techs, two upgraded to Extra.

  • Tri-State ARO meeting is sometime. We should show up as a show of support to that organization. $15 annual dues, donations for the repeater fund are always welcome.

New Business

  • Teaken Butte repeater is owned by Nez Perce County and provides a VHF link from parts of Lewiston to parts of Moscow. It has some issues due to lack of maintenance. Ty is working on getting it fixed.

  • Badges. Northwest Radio now has a badge maker. Mike will pay for badges for AuxComm members. Details are still being worked out.

  • Upcoming projects and exercises. We need to do some nighttime testing with HF. We also need to find a way to establish a VHF/UHF link to Spokane and other surrounding areas.

  • Discussion about the lack of a tied repeater in the area that gets us out to extended distances.

  • Event idea: do a non-repeater exercise to determine who can talk to who on what equipment.

Upcoming Training:

  • AuxComm May 5 and 6 in Moscow. ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 and an Amateur Radio license are required to take the class.

  • Oregon ACES. There is a trainer in Lewiston. Bill will get more information and see if a class makes sense.

Event Updates

  • April 28: simplex exercise around Moscow area. Trailer at fair grounds with repeater and simplex. Dispatch over Moscow Mtn. Repeater to send people to various areas to test simplex.

  • May 26: Lotus Blossom Festival in JK Valley. We’d be paired up with a CERT member doing traffic control. Need at least four positions.

  • June 2: Safety Fair at Eastside Mall. We need to have interesting activities going on.

  • June 23: Humane Society of the Palouse 5K, interested in having comms. It’s also Field Day. We might be able to support both.

  • Riggins Jet Boat Races April 20 – 22. Positions are filled but we can always find a place for extra hams.

  • March 31, 2018, Washington EOC to EOC 5th Saturday exercise. HF was a bust. We established packet/Winlink to Spokane and repeater VHF to Pullman. This was an official exercise for Latah County Disaster Services.
